Arrived and safe!

Hey everyone. Sorry this is the first chance i have been able to post an update. First, remember July 2, 3, and 4 were all travel days. I landed in Uganda at 230ish in the afternoon Uganda time yesterday, the 4th (it was 7:30am your time). Then we had a friend of ours here, joel, i'll tell you more about him later, bring us to the guest house where we are staying on campus, and then it was time to get settled, take a walk, eat dinner, and SLEEP glorious SLEEP! I only had enough time to get online and email my mom, to let her know i got here and then i went to sleep.
BUT today is a new day! Right now we have not left the university campus because its just us 5 students (three unc nursing students including myself, and two duke engineering students) and then two adults, a neurosurgeon named steve and his wife, jenny. Joel told us to stay in the university area last night and sleep and to wait for him today at 3 (a little less than an hour) so he can orient us and show us the city.
So since we have not found an internet cafe in the city yet, hope to today, i am using the connection on the one computer here at the makerere university guest house, where we're staying, and it costs me, get this, 500 Ugandan shillings for ten minutes, 1,500 for 30 minutes. But thats not much. depending on teh exhchance rate, its like, about 1 dollar for 30 minutes. anyway, i want to tell you so much, but my friend wants to get online before we leave for a tour, so know that i am in kampala, uganda, we're getting a tour this afternoon, i'm seven hours ahead of ya'll on the east coast, and loving it so far.
One thing to pray for right now: i only got one of my two bags at the airport. the larger one, with all my clothes except two outfits, and most of my stuff, is not here yet. pray that they find it and can get it to me. love ya'll.
look for a new post in the afternoon your time on the 5th, or surely sometime on the 6th.
